Vizy or Linktree: two tools for two jobs
Linktree gathers a creator's links for their audience; Vizy hands your details to a person you have just met. What each does well, and which fits your line of work.
Two different questions
Linktree answers the question "where can my audience follow me?". It is a page of links, born for the bio line of Instagram, that sends followers to a shop, a channel, a podcast. It is built for a large number of visitors who know you only through your account.
Vizy answers the question "how can this person call me back?". It is a business card: a page opened by someone you have just met, who wants your number in their phone, and wants it without typing anything. It is built for one person at a time.
Both are pages with links, and that is where the resemblance ends.
What Linktree does well
Great freedom of layout, dozens of templates, blocks for embedding videos, products, newsletters. Click statistics per link. An enormous user base, which reassures. A free tier with the Linktree mention, and paid tiers to remove it, customise further and analyse traffic.
If you are a creator, an artist, an online seller, and your page gets hundreds of visits a day from social networks, this is the tool built for you.
What Vizy does well
An "Add to contacts" button that puts a complete contact file, photo included, into the phone of the person opposite. A QR code generated for your card, ready to print. A short address. First name, last name, role, company: the fields of a business card, not of a shop.
Four languages, with buttons that follow the language of the visitor's phone, which matters in Switzerland. No tracking of visitors: nobody has to accept a banner before seeing your number. And it is free, with no mention to remove for a subscription.
What Vizy does not do
No per-link statistics, no templates by the dozen, no video or shop embeds, no team management. These are not gaps to fill: they are things a business card does not need to do. If you are looking for them, Linktree or a website are the right tools.
An example
A photographer with twenty thousand followers on Instagram puts Linktree in her bio: print shop, exhibition calendar, latest video. At the weddings she shoots, she holds out her Vizy card to guests who ask for her number: one scan, "Add to contacts", and she is in their phone with her face. Two pages, two audiences, no conflict.
The cost
Linktree is free with its brand on it, and paid to remove it and for statistics; prices move, look at the current page. Vizy is free, all of it, and the line "Card published with Vizy" comes off with one click in your settings, without paying.
Which to pick
You sell to an audience that follows you on social networks: Linktree, or an equivalent. You meet clients, partners, colleagues, and want them to find you in their phone a week later: a digital business card, Vizy or another.
And nothing stops you having both: a link to your Linktree page belongs on your Vizy card, in the list of your addresses.
